Iris Mór, the biggest of the Aran Islands on the west coast of Eire, is a spot steeped in Celtic heritage. Deirdre Ní Chinnéide, a passionate singer who embraces the vitality of the complete female by a wealthy soundscape of shifting verse, uncooked emotion and conventional preparations, has chosen Iris Mór as inspiration for her new album , Celtic passage.
The Celts believed within the existence of different worlds often known as the “nation of the SY” (spirit). Their druid, or shaman, may journey to those different worlds, returning with perception into the issues and challenges of every day life. Celtic passage invitations the listener to journey to this different world of the Celtic shaman, calling us to return to the pure rhythms that join us to a deeper and extra joyful expertise of life. This emotional journey explores themes of life and loss of life, land and nature, the savagery of conflict, the redemption of affection and, in the end, the miracle of life.
Celtic passage is split into 4 sections: Her hand (Winter) a time of quiet and darkness the place seeds are planted in anticipation of sunshine, starting with the tune “Forgotten” the place we bear in mind the knowledge of our Celtic ancestors; embolize (Spring) the place the earth receives the embrace of the solar, which opens with the tune “Mom”; Might (Summer season) which begins with “Come up My Love”, brimming with the sound of chance; and at last Luganasa (Autumn) with the tune “Si Gaoithe” calling us to sing our tune with pleasure.
With voice, harp, violin, flute, bodhran, bagpipes and whistle, Celtic passage is a musical journey to the land of the Spirit, a daring trek into the center of this age-old custom. For many who respect Celtic music at its most evocative, Celtic passage is bound to please.
